About

A deep love of a Learning Curve

A Mid-40's, Happy Father of 3, That's my Universe in a Nutshell....

Hi, I'm Dan,
Pleased to meet you!

The mainstream education system was major stuggletown for me due in no small part to being dyslexic as, AND autistic to boot!
I, like many other Neurodivergent people, repeatedly fell though the many cracks, both social and educational. As these were less & less of a success's for me personally, I clung more tightly to meaning making that was how THINGS worked and fit together.... Quite literally! 🙂
I took everything apart and spent eternity's day dreaming.
As a consequence I've spent my adult life learning how to put things back together. -Including myself!
I'm keen to provide a space in the community for those of us less thrilled by sport and exercise and more jazzed by solder smoke, data dumps and sharing our latest thesis onto whoever might happen to be around.
It's a privilege to share my life long passion of everything Tech, and run our Lab on country nicked off the good folk of the Dja Dja Wurrung.

Current working with children’s check (of course).

An active member of the local community for many years. Specifically working with primary and high school kids. Currently the Grounds & building officer for Chewton Primary school. I assisted with marshalling at the recent state schools MTB series @ Castlemaine Secondary College CSC. An accredited bike ed instructor, I’ve also volunteered in many other roles in the community such as:

  • Worked in a security role supporting the youth climate action emergency concert last year @ the goodshed.
  • Was a volunteer for the Chewton pool.
  • Support worker for Windarring.
  • Support / Sweep rider for Bendigo 2 wheel academy.
  • Previously a Club Scout leader.
  • Helping out on the regular @ the ‘Repair Cafe’

Note for Carers 🙂

The only thing better than watching our precious kids grow and learn is to be directly involved!!! This is warmly welcomed and there is space at the table for a +1 for sure, HOWEVER….. Any caregiver wishing to participate at the main table with their child will be required to provide a current working with children’s check for me. (There’s loads of space to the sides or in the foyer with comfy chairs and we run with an open door policy at all times.

-Thanks for your understanding on these important matters,

Regards, Dan.
